FT Island’s upcoming Japanese single has been chosen as the CM song of a TV advertisement.

The group will release their 11th Japanese single titled ‘Theory of Happiness’ on July 24. The title song of the same name has been chosen as the CM song of the TV advertisement of Japanese dining company, ‘Sukiya’.

Sukiya is a major dining company in Japan which owns 1900 branches over the country. The TV ads featuring FT Island’s track will be aired starting on June 23.

Meanwhile, “Theory of Happiness” is also chosen as the ending theme song for Japanese animated film ‘Toriko’ which will be released on July 27th.


FT Island continues to storm local music charts with its latest Japanese release.

The band’s third Japanese full length album ‘RATED-FT’, which was released on June 24, ranked top on K-Pop weekly album chart accumulated by one of Japan’s largest music websites, ‘Yamano Music’.

‘RATED-FT’ contains 11 tracks in total, including title song ‘Freedom’ as well as a few number of tracks personally composed and written by the members. The album has been receiving high praises as it shows FT Island’s color very vividly.


FT Island’s frontman Lee Hongki transformed into a writer.

His management agency, FNC Entertainment, announced on June 24 that Lee Hongki will be releasing his very own ‘Lee Hongki’s Nail Book’, a book about nail art.

The book is for both men and women, and includes 144 pages worth of special photos of Lee Hongki, nail art tips and reading contents as well as his philosophy of nail art. Even though it is not released yet, a great number of nail art experts are already showing great interests.

Lee Hongki has big interest in nail art so he will show his self-done nails and some useful tips through the book. The FT Island vocalist said, “It is a great pleasure to release my first book, and I hope many people will read it together.”


In addition to Ryeowook and Luna’s music video released earlier, FT Island’s Lee Jaejin, AOA’s ChoA, Kang Dong Ho and Oh So Yeon also revealed their videos of their OST singles for the the Korean adaptation of Disney Channel hit ‘High School Musical’.

On June 21, CJ E&M released music videos for the tracks “The Start of Something New” and “Breaking Free”, providing the fans a first look of the musical version of the hit teen movie in which the four stars will be playing the lead roles.
